Growing up in Madagascar and surrounded by homeland's own diverse music and the music of the African continent, the Islands of the Indian Ocean and France ( as Madagascar was once a French colony) played a big role in my musical upbringing and enriched my appreciation of music from different parts of the globe. Early in my teenage years, I fell in love with French chansons as I listened to Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel and watched my parents record their favourite French singers onto tapes off Radio France Internationale late into the night. Performing has always been a part of my life and when I moved to NZ, I thought it was over. I couldn't have been more wrong! I have made friends with incredible musicians and I am incredibly privileged to make music and perform French chansons (Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Charles Aznavour...) with a sprinkle of Malagasy songs thrown in with the fabulous Dayle Anderson, Richard Hardie and Jonathan Berkahn. You can find us at Festivals or at fundrasing concerts for Madagascar or in small, intimate concerts.
